First Post-Weekend Progress Report

Hey, backers! We hope you all had a great weekend. Nothing overly dramatic in this update, just a short progress update.

Declined Pledge Funding

Kickstarter successfully charged the credit cards for the vast majority of pledges last Thursday. If your card charge was declined for whatever reason, Kickstarter would have sent you one or two emails by now notifying you that your card information requires updating on their system.

Unsuccessful backers: Kickstarter grants one full week to resolve all payment issues before the platform drops you from the campaign. Until Thursday, April 29th, you can log in to your Kickstarter account and click the “Fix payment” button in the banner at the top of your screen. On the next page, click the “Retry your payment” button to retry or update your pledge with a different card. Kickstarter will automatically retry to charge declined cards once on April 29th, unless you’ve already fixed the problem. Stretch Goal Progress

Although the funding campaign is over, we haven’t been idle over the weekend. Rather, editing on the core rules continues and we have been making solid progress on several stretch goals. We have contracted a composer/conductor for the Anime 5E soundtrack, have statted out portions for several of the PDF extras (traps, mecha, vehicles, races, classes, pre-gen characters, etc.), and have hired the illustrator for the Dice Tower add-on. We should be in the position to fulfil some of the stretch goals when download links to the PDF rewards are emailed by mid-May.

Official Anime 5E Discord Server

We have absorbed the existing (and beloved) Tri-Stat System Fan Discord Server into our company admin, and have expanded it to provide a community place for Anime 5E gamers to discuss the game as well. The new Dyskami RPG Community Discord Server is available through an open invite link: https://discord.gg/pSJgcft37T

Along with the Anime 5E Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/anime5erpg), there are several excellent resources where you can connect with other players and DMs to engage on Anime 5E ideas.

BackerKit Survey In Early May

During the first week or so of May, we will post an update letting you know when we are sending the BackerKit survey to complete your pledge. Until then, there’s nothing more you need to do (unless your pledge funding was declined on Kickstarter; see above).

With the BackerKit survey, you can:

• Confirm or change your pledge tier
• Top up your pledge funds to select one or more add-on products
• Remit shipping fees for any physical rewards in your pledge
• Provide your mailing address for shipping physical rewards
• Update your email address for delivery of PDFs through your DriveThruRPG account

Late Pledges

We know that during this crazy time, not everyone was able to complete a pledge during the Anime 5E Kickstarter campaign. In the coming weeks, we will be offering a late pledge option for those that unfortunately missed the Anime 5E Kickstarter. An announcement with further details will be released at that time.

Anime 5E SRD $600,000 Stretch Goal Unlocked!

We are speechless.

You collectively pulled together to do something we didn’t think was possible.

You unlocked the final $600K stretch goal!

Thanks to you, we will now create an Anime 5E System Reference Document (or SRD) that compiles all the open gaming content from the book. The SRD will be freely available to gamers and publishers who may be interested in creating additional Fifth Edition content using materials from Anime 5E.

All Time Top RPG List

Your support has rocketed the Anime 5E campaign into #22 spot on Kickstarter’s all-time list of top funded role-playing game/expansion campaigns – ahead of #23 Iron Kingdoms: Requiem at $594,199 and behind #21 Root RPG. Even more impressive, Anime 5E has claimed the #14 spot on the all-time list of most number backers for role-playing game/expansion campaigns – ahead of #15 the Creatures monster compendium at 7,587 and behind #13 Twilight 2000 at 8,073.

But Wait! There’s More!

There’s still two hours left in the campaign, so we’ll set one final (for reals!), modest stretch goal. If campaign funding reaches $602,023 to bump the Root RPG down one spot to place Anime 5E in position #21 on the all-time funding list, we will spend some additional time to enhance the page reference linking in the Anime 5E core game PDF throughout the book. It’s a long and tedious project, but will result in a more useful digital publication for you.

This is a short update to express our heartfelt thanks for pushing the campaign through the $575K stretch goal so rapidly! ☺️ Now every backer who pledges $13+ will receive our conversion PDF of an additional five monster variants from the Fifth Edition MM to Anime 5E stat blocks.

9 Hours For the Final $600K Stretch Goal!

There’s just nine hours remaining in the Kickstarter (ending at today 9pm EDT or GMT-4) and you only have one final stretch goal to unlock at $600K. Need a reminder what it is from Update #43?

If campaign funding reaches $600K, we will extract all the open gaming content from the Anime 5E core rules (designated under the Open Gaming License v1.0a) and compile it into an Anime 5E System Reference Document (or SRD). We will then make this Anime 5E SRD freely available to gamers in convenient RTF and PDF formats, as well as to game publishers who may be interested in creating additional Fifth Edition content using materials from Anime 5E.

We would plan to release the Anime 5E SRD to coincide with the fulfilment of the print edition in Q4 2021. Should campaign funding not reach the $600K milestone, we will investigate options to release an Anime 5E SRD sometime in the future.

Anime 5E Kickstarter Timeline

This is an important update, so please read it thoroughly so you’ll understand the timelines for the campaign from today until fulfilment.

22 April @ 9pm EDT

Kickstarter will charge your credit card tonight for the total amount that you pledged through the system. Please take a few minutes (➡️ right now is best ⬅️) and confirm that the correct credit card is uploaded to your Kickstarter profile. If you need to update your card or expiration date, there’s no better time than the present. Also, please ensure that the card on file is working, and that there is sufficient credit remaining to cover your pledge.

29 April

If for some reason your pledge payment is declined, you have one full week to resolve your payment issue before Kickstarter drops you from the campaign. Until your pledge has been successfully collected, Kickstarter will send you an email every 48 hours with a direct link to the correct the issue. During the seven-day timeframe, you can also log in to your Kickstarter account and click the “Fix payment” button in the banner at the top of your screen. On the next page, click the “Retry your payment” button to retry or update your pledge with a different card. Kickstarter will automatically retry to charge declined cards once on April 29th, unless you’ve already fixed the problem. Early May

We will import all the Kickstarter pledge data into our BackerKit system. Backers dropped by Kickstarter for non-payment will not be imported. During the first week or so of May, we will post an update letting you know when we are sending the BackerKit survey to complete your pledge. With the survey, you can:

• Confirm or change your pledge tier
• Top up your pledge funds to select one or more add-on products
• Remit shipping fees for any physical rewards in your pledge
• Provide your mailing address for shipping physical rewards
• Update your email address for delivery of PDFs through your DriveThruRPG account

Mid May

We will give everyone approximately ONE WEEK to complete the survey before BackerKit charges backer credit cards for shipping fees and add-ons done through the survey. Shortly thereafter, we will email DriveThruRPG digital download links where you can get your digital rewards that align with your pledged funds. The links will be sent to the email address you provided us through BackerKit, so please ensure that the email entered either aligns with your DriveThruRPG account (current, or one that you will open to receive your rewards), or that you can access these links in your DTRPG account from your provided email address.

Important: if you do not complete the BackerKit survey within the one-week period, delivery of your digital rewards will be delayed! Every week or two-week period moving forward from mid-May, we will compile all the late surveys received and process the digital pledge rewards at that time. We will only send out download PDF codes to late backers in these weekly or bi-weekly waves, not daily as they come in. In other words, if you want your digital pledge rewards as soon as possible, please don’t delay completing the survey please.

Note about stretch goals: We do not have specific timelines yet for digital stretch goal delivery. Our target is to have everything ready for download by fall 2021, but it may be sooner or later. We do not guarantee that the digital stretch goals will arrive at the same time as the pledge product PDFs. We will deliver the stretch goals when they are ready, and we will post a campaign update so everyone will know when they are delivered.

Early June

After you receive your digital rewards, we would love to hear from you regarding any typos, missing content, layout errors, or other miscellaneous flaws. Though the timeline is tight to avoid unnecessary delays of your physical pledges, we have set aside two to three weeks to correct any oversights in the product manuscripts. We aren’t looking to make huge changes to the books at this point, though we do want to make them as error-free as possible. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with any errata we should consider before sending the books to press.

Mid June

We will send all products to press!

August

If necessary, you can make changes to your mailing address through BackerKit until August (if you move between now and August, for example). We will post an update when the exact cut-off date will be so we can prepare our freight appropriately.

Fall 2021

We don’t have an exact timeline concerning shipping of physical rewards, since there are still many unknowns in a world gripped by a still-raging global pandemic. We hope for September, though this may not be accurate. We will provide further updates once we have them, of course.
